This weekend Frank and I went to St. Louis for a quick trip to support my niece, Dallas, in a pageant.
(This is a completely unknown territory for Frank)

Dallas did an UNBELIEVABLE job.
Following in her mom's footsteps.
A few years ago, or almost 20 =), my sister won Miss Missouri.
Dallas is only 14 years old. This is her in her evening gown group. She is on the far left.
Dallas was the youngest girl in the pageant. She was competing against girls in college. She's in 8th grade!
Can you imagine being the youngest girl on this stage? It would be a little intimidating.
This is Sophie and Dallas. Sophie is in 8th grade too. Sophie is my other niece. Her and Dal are 1st cousins.
Sophie was 13 in this picture, she is now 14! Happy Birthday, Soph.
For some reason I don't recall looking quite like they do back in 8th grade. Do you?
I'm so proud of both of them. They are great girls with high convictions. Most importantly, they love Jesus.

Sophie, my momma, me, Dallas, and Stephanie.
Sophie, Dallas, and Stephanie.
Frank and I were only able to stay for the preliminary night.
On the Finals night Dallas made it into the top 15. She came up short on the top 5, but she still gets an amazing scholarship to a college.
Frank really enjoyed it. He said he would like to stay for the finals night. He compared the competition to a sport.
Whatever works!
To a sport? That's cute. They are beautiful, you all are! You are so funny though, I don't remembering looking that good and grown up in 8th grade either. Frumpy is the word I would for myself, lol. That is awesome she got a scholarship though.
ReplyDeleteDallas looks so much like Stephanie now!! And Sophie! They have grown up WAY too much =) I agree with you and Michelle, 8th grade was just awkward.
ReplyDeleteNatalie,
ReplyDeleteMy hairdressers daughter was in this too. She received a really good scholarship as well. Such pretty girls.
We're you at the Ladies Rally last night? It was AMAZING!!!
Have a Blessed evening,
dawn
