This weekend during our quick trip to Connecticut... it snowed! And it snowed! And it SNOWED a little more.
The first picture was taken about noon.
Hays with his pop-a. (That's how he says it!) Probably 2pm.
And by 3pm it was still coming down!
Some how, we never lost our power at the hotel or at Frank's Uncle Mark & Aunt Deb's house. We got up Sunday morning and our flight was still scheduled for 12:20pm. Once we got to the airport in Bridgeport (the same airport where that JetBlue plane sat for 7.5 hours on Sat.), we noticed that all of the stoplights were out.
We got to the rental car company and they were without power. The attendant told us in a round about way that we would not be leaving Sunday.
At the airport there were cots set up Everywhere. I looked at the board and by the grace of God our flight was one of 3 scheduled to leave. Once we got to security we weren't so lucky. The line was the longest I've ever seen. Bridgeport isn't a big airport and it couldn't keep up with all of the people. It was going to take us at least 3 hours to get through.
Frank is the most passive person EVER. He was just going to wait it out. I started praying for favor in getting through the line and that our flight would be delayed by a few minutes. BOTH THINGS HAPPENED! We were delayed enough to miss our flight in Dallas, but we still made it back to Springfield by 7pm. Not too bad.
It was a long weekend but we are so glad we made the last minute trip.
Wow, what an adventure. That's fun you guys go on so many trips. That sounds stressful with the airport. What a blessing you made it back safe and sound.
